Waniwani Named to the 2026 CB Insights' 50 Most Promising Insurtech Startups

Waniwani recognized for building the revenue and compliance infrastructure for the agentic distribution of insurance

NEW YORK, September 24, 2026 – CB Insights today named Waniwani to its fifth annual Insurtech 50, showcasing the 50 most promising insurtech startups in the world.

“The 2026 Insurtech 50 reveals the top startups shaking up the insurance industry’s status quo,” said Chris Sekerak, Lead Analyst at CB Insights. “The common thread across the cohort is the ability to scale differentiated businesses that are unlikely to be displaced by large AI or insurance companies.”

“Eight months ago, selling insurance through AI was an experiment. Today it is on the board agenda of the largest insurers,” said Robin Diligent, Co-founder and CEO of Waniwani. “We are proud to be on this list. The next question is no longer whether insurers show up inside ChatGPT, but how they handle third-party agents shopping on behalf of consumers, and how they protect their data when any agent can quote their website at scale.”

The list includes 27 insurers and intermediaries, and 23 tech vendors. The CB Insights research team picked winning companies based on CB Insights datasets, including deal activity, industry partnerships, team strength, investor strength, executive interviews, and proprietary metrics.

Waniwani launched the first insurance app on ChatGPT, with Tuio. Since then, more than 80 insurance apps have followed, including some of the largest carriers in the world such as Allstate, Liberty Mutual and Aviva.

New challenges are now emerging with personal AI assistants. Agents like Muse, JEV and Grok shop on behalf of consumers across any insurer’s website, not just inside ChatGPT and Claude. Insurers now have to be quotable by agents they don’t control, while telling a competitor scraping their data apart from a customer ready to buy.

Waniwani helps insurers quote inside AI agents and regain control of their distribution through performance monitoring, conversion optimization and compliance.

Robin Diligent will join Chris Sekerak on stage at ITC Vegas alongside fellow Insurtech 50 founders Dakotah Rice (Harper), Grace Hanson (Elysian) and Jon Qian (Valgo), on Thursday, October 1 at 11am PT at Mandalay Bay, to discuss where agentic commerce is taking insurance distribution.
